Workshop: Cosmology in the Laboratory with Liquid Helium
Workshop on Cosmology and Condensed Matter: Friday 15th August
Organisers: Richard Haley, Grisha Volovik, Ralf Schuetzhold
In recent years there has been a realization that phenomena on a cosmic scale have analogies in the quantum condensates of ultralow temperature physics. This workshop brings together physicists from these very different disciplines to exploit the remarkable correspondences emerging between processes and mechanisms on hugely different scales. The aim is to promote discussion and foster collaboration for the future.
The workshop will be preceded by a morning plenary talk by George Pickett (Lancaster) providing an overview of the field.
