Workshop: Impact of the cryogen free revolution and new cooling technologies
The impact of cryogen-free revolution and new cooling technologies: Friday 15th
Organiser: H Godfrin
The advent of 4 K cryocoolers has led to a new generation of very low temperature refrigerators (dilution, magnetic, nanorefrigerators, etc…). The aim of this mini-workshop, scheduled as a plenary session, is to present the status of the field and to discuss with a "round table" of experts, designers, manufacturers and users, the new possibilities offered by these novel technologies.
There will be short presentations by the leading researchers in this field (covering pulse-tube DRs, magnetic cooling and nanocooling):
- Kurt Uhlig (Walther-Meissner-Institute)
- Vladimir Mikheev (Oxford Instruments)
- Jeremy Good (Cryogenic)
- Oleg Kirichek (STFC)
- Mikko Paalanen (Helsinki)
- Henri Godfrin (CNRS-Grenoble)
- Kurt Haselwimmer (Dryogenic)
- Giorgio Frossati (Leiden)
Other users of these technologies will be encouraged to make very brief presentations, or simply participate in the debate.
