Workshop: Nanoscience at low mK temperatures
Workshop on Nanoscience; the ultra-low temperature frontier: Sunday 17th
Organisers: Tjerk Oosterkamp, Andy Sachrajda, Dominik Zumbuhl
The scope of the workshop is to address questions including:
- Which experiments would benefit from substantially lower phonon/electron temperatures?
- What new physics can be expected?
- What kind of temperatures would be necessary and what technical challenges need to be addressed?
Talks will give a description of "where we are now" with a vision of "where we could be", potentially identifying strategic approaches. Potential participants are encouraged to identify further relevant issues.
Confirmed speakers are Mikko Paalanen (Helsinki), Daniel Loss (Basel), G Gervais (McGill), S Valenzuela (MIT), I Rau tbc (Stanford), K Kono (RIKEN)
